Utility Submetering Sales Representative

Job Description

WaterWatch Corporation, a nationally recognized utility submetering company, is offering an excellent opportunity for sales representatives looking to expand their career with a pioneer in the industry. Since 1997, WaterWatch has helped hundreds of property owners to control and reduce utility expenses through utility submetering. We are a full service utility submetering company, offering services including installation, meter monitoring, resident invoicing, payment collections, and energy management.

 

We are seeking to expand our sales force throughout the United States by hiring multiple sales representatives to work from home-base offices in WaterWatch sales territories. As a sales representative, you will be responsible for developing our client base and will serve as a liaison between management and clients to resolve any customer issues. The right candidate for this position will be self- motivated and independent, with strong negotiation and planning skills. Knowledge of the multi-family and commercial real estate industry is preferred.

 

Responsibilities

- Establish and maintain client contact through in-person visits, email, and telephone calls.

- Travel periodically throughout territory for account development and national/regional trade shows.

- Achieve annual sales and profit objectives as set for territory.

- Develop sales strategies and maintain knowledge of competitors.

- Obtain new business and exceed territory sales budgets.

- Develop and present sales proposals to potential WaterWatch clients.

- Develop and maintain a full business pipeline of prospective clients

 

Qualifications

-  5-10 years of sales experience, preferably in the utility submetering, multi-family or commercial real estate markets.

- Experience working from a home-base office is a plus. Candidate must possess the desire and strong interpersonal communication skills to manage their own sales territory.

- Must be able to demonstrate ability in effective and strategic sales planning by preparing, reviewing, editing, and negotiating sales proposals and client service agreements.

- Candidate must possess a successful and verifiable record in sales.  A portfolio of business contacts from the utility submetering, multifamily, or commercial real estate industries is preferred.

- Candidate must have an understanding of billing service invoice operations and internal business operation relating to such industries as: submetering, utility authorities, multi-family residential, condominium, and commercial real estate.

- Advanced computer skills and good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

- With minimal direction and supervision, candidate must understand the key business elements of our company.

- Bachelors Degree preferred, business degree a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, commission, and bonus plan.  Compensation to be determined based on experience.  Health insurance, Dental, 401(k) and other benefits are available.
