The RTC eliminates expensive gas meters and provides accurate high-resolution data for point of use allocation billing. The RTC data is collected by sensing either control voltage or current (series or parallel operations) on HVAC appliances. Several times daily, the RTC broadcasts run-time of the appliance and other account information via brief radio transmissions to the WaterWatch DCU (data collection unit) located on site. This application is excellent for multifamily, commercial, or condominiums submetering existing forced air furnaces, existing gas fireplaces, and boiler heating distribution metering.
